In the second "battle" of Ayckbourn's celebrated triology The Norman Conquests, we rejoin the family weekend, this time hearing the events in the living room, where Norman gets drunk on homemade dandelion wine – and all hell breaks loose. Norman unleashes his merry brand of manipulative charm on the hapless guests and even his most formidable opponents go down in defeat on the drawing room rug.

An L.A. Theatre Works full-cast performance featuring: Rosalind Ayres as Sarah, Kenneth Danziger as Reg, Martin Jarvis as Norman, Jane Leeves as Annie, Christopher Neame as Tom, and Carolyn Seymour as Ruth.

A star-studded cast shines in this full production of Ayckbourn's acclaimed trilogy. The three comedies—each set in a different room of a country house—follow six characters through a calamitous family weekend. In Table Manners
      , Living Together
and Round and Round the Garden
, hilarity, miscommunication and mayhem abound as Norman, a lovable and randy troublemaker, seduces his sister-in-law, gets drunk on homemade wine, quarrels with his wife and bullies the local veterinarian—to the chagrin of his equally madcap and argumentative family. The incomparable Martin Jarvis delivers an unforgettable performance as Norman, with Jane Leeves as lovelorn Annie, Christopher Neame as the clueless Tom, Ken Danziger as the sardonic Reg, and the entire cast delivering excellent performances in a hilarious and highly recommended audio book that will deliver the listener to the front row of the theater.

It could very well be that L.A. Theatre Works can do no wrong. Their audio productions continue to delight audiences with their professional aplomb. LIVING TOGETHER is certainly no exception. This second installment of THE NORMAN CONQUESTS trilogy treats listeners to Alan Ayckbourn's uniquely engaging characters and wry wit. This feat, combined with the British cast's rapid-fire delivery, makes this piece a comedic roller-coaster ride. As usual, LATW supports its fine performances with stellar sound quality and stage-business sound effects that blend effortlessly into the production. If you couldn't see this production live, hearing the recording is a close second! R.A.P. (c) AudioFile 2000, Portland, Maine
